Choosing the right ERP partner is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make as a growing business. Many businesses do not know that not every ERP partner approaches ERP and implementation the same way.
Some firms earn much of their revenue from selling software licenses and upselling add-ons, or “customizations”.
Others focus on helping businesses build the right solution, regardless of whether that means using a particular software or selling more of it.
What Is Vendor-Neutral ERP Guidance?
Vendor-neutral ERP guidance means your ERP partner recommends what’s best for your business rather than what is easiest to sell.
At JP&A, we’re a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central partner, so we can provide licensing when our clients need it, but we are not a “software reseller” only.
Our recommendations always start with your business goals, not our sales goals.
A Good ERP Partner Doesn’t Recommend More Than You Need
More software does not automatically create a better ERP system. This is a common misconception we see often. Unnecessary customizations, extra modules, and excessive third-party applications make systems harder to maintain, more prone to breaks, and more difficult for employees to adopt and use.
We encourage clients to keep their ERP environment as simple as possible. If your system’s native functionality will serve your needs, we use it. If a third-party application would be the same or better for less cost, we tell you.
Choosing the Right ERP Partner
Not every ERP partner is focused on selling software, and not every software reseller is focused on solving business problems. Some companies do both.
Your ERP Partner’s recommendations should be driven by your business needs only, not by what they would prefer to sell to earn commission.
At JP&A, our ERP implementations begin with honest conversations and a lot of listening. We pride ourselves on delivering speedy, cost-effective, and practical solutions that serve our customers’ needs.
